This one I had to shrink so that it would all fit on one page. I made it large, so that I could put it on a poster if i wanted to. It took a long time, and was one of the first major projects I completed in this class. I had a lot of fun looking for a photo, once I found the first one with Trump's hair all messed up. There are some really funny photos of him. Apparently this happens to him all of the time. That's what happens when you wear a comb-over. This one was probably my favorite out of all the projects to do, because it kept making me laugh so hard.
So the one below is probably one of my favorites, as far as the easier projects go. One of my favorite things to do as a warm up when I was a tattoo artist was to make a new alphabet, or alter one already made. I love letters. I would love to get into typography, but sadly, the teacher that is in charge of typography here does not care too much for me, and  as a consequence the class is less than enjoyable.
In the AI document, the colors and the black splotches are on different layers, so that you can turn off the black behind the letters if it doesn't fit what you are trying to do. I would like one day to make this a REAL typeset.
There are a few tiny projects below, just a small selection of in-class warm ups. Each one of these was designed to teach us about a particular tool or set of tools that adds depth and realness to your artwork you cannot get with the simple tools.
So the image below is my very first foray into using a perspective grid to draw something. I'll admit, this one was not too fun for me. The perspective grid has always had a habit of throwing itself onto my artboard when i least expect it, and it gets in the way of the finer detail i sometimes draw. It always took me forever to get to it and get it off the page. That's one thing I', happier about after this assignment. I now know better how to control the grid, and to turn it on and off quickly. I am unsure how much i will be using this in the NEAR future, anyways. I've never been a 3d person. I liked the Iso grid better. My son is obsessed with minecraft, and wants badly to learn the iso grid so he can draw minecraft skins and such better.
I now know how to use the perspective grid to draw other grids as well.
This one below I am particularly proud of. I have always been interested in gradients, but the mesh was always very confusing, and I couldn't make it work quite right. So after a while I sort of gave up on getting things to look too realistic. I've never been a realistic sort of artist anyways, preferring abstract, surreal,
otherworldly scenes. This assignment taught me a lot, and I'm sure will help me be a better designer, because a lot of people prefer realistic looking things for commercial use. Plus it looks cool. Though I did not add the little hairs on the stem or tomato itself. I thought it was a bit much, and detracted from the look of the tomato itself.
